LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — University of Kentucky undergraduates who work part-time for the school are marching on campus today to deliver their petition to university President Eli Capilouto.

The students are asking to establish a $15/hour minimum wage for all student workers. So far, more than 800 people have signed their petition.

They also want sick pay and HR protections that they currently don’t get, including eligibility to participate in one of the University healthcare plans, temporary disability leave, vacation leave, and Official University holidays.

They are also asking for the University of Kentucky to create an official process for undergraduate student workers to file complaints about mistreatment within their workplace and to challenge unjust firings. read more
