MORE than 19,000 Lidl workers are set for a pay rise – but not until March next year.
The supermarket is hiking pay packets to match the new Real Living Wage, which is rising to £9.30 per hour outside London.
Employees working in London will see their wages boosted to £10.75, going up to £11.70 depending on their location and how long they’ve worked for the retailer.
It’s the fifth year in a row that Lidl has given employees a pay rise to match Real Living Wage rates, which are set by independent charity the Living Wage Foundation.
This rate is separate to the National Living Wage and is based on what a full-time worker and their family needs to make ends meet.
This can take into account costs of food, clothing and household bills.
