San Francisco has the fastest growing rate of income inequality in the nation. Those in the top 5 percent make more than 16 times what we in the bottom 20 percent make. At least 23 percent of San Franciscans live in poverty. The San Francisco Living Wage Coalition is building a movement for economic justice. There are two steps that you can take to counter the growing income inequality and wealth disparity in San Francisco.
- Get Prop J passed on the Nov. 4 ballot to raise the city minimum wage in stages to $15.
- Get the Board of Supervisors to pass a Community Jobs ordinance to provide training and create jobs for unemployed San Franciscans.
Join us in educating San Franciscans about how they can make a difference. Come to an orientation and take part in a team at an information table at various locations in the City.
