“A New Grito for Change”

Saturday, September 15, celebrate Mexican and Central American Independence Day with “A New Grito for Change”-a call for social and economic justice, independence from poverty,and fair trade not neocolonialism. Musicians and poets perform in this campaign to stop deportations and to protest the failure of free trade agreements in protecting workers rights. Performances by Francisco Herrera; Una Flor, Un Canto, Una Poesia – Elizabeth, Nancy and Mario Esteva; Grupo Folklorico Maiz; Daniel Flores; and other guests. Tickets are $10 and children under 12 are free. 6 p.m. 2940 – 16th Street, San Francisco.
